Retirement Road Trip

We, (Jeff, Susan, Gianna, Stitch and Scout) left TN on 8/23, yes, 3 days after Jeff retired and didn’t return home until 12/5.  We dropped Gianna off at school in Phoenix and then continued west to CA.  We did 14,000+ miles, purchased 950+ gallons of gas, saw 3 national parks and so many of our friends and family.  We started with 3 weeks of living in Dad’s driveway (yes, very hillbilly) in Oceanside and got to visit with Dad at his memory care facility everyday.  We then went to Simi Valley, Carpentaria, SLO, Sonoma to hang out with Susan’s family, Antioch, Lake Tahoe, Reno, Redwood National Park, Roseburg, Crater Lake National Park, Salem, Fort Stevens, Issaquah, Bellevue, Bothell, Olympic National Park, the OR Coast, back to Sonoma, Antioch again, Paso Robles, Long Beach, Simi Valley once more, San Ardo, back to Sonoma for Thanksgiving, SLO one more time, Oceanside for one last visit with Dad and Jeff’s family, Phoenix, Las Cruces, Midland, Dallas and finally back home.  We are still exhausted and trying to get caught up on mail and getting our home ready for Christmas.  If we didn’t see you on this trip don’t be surprised if we call or text out of the blue in the future.  Here is a VERY small sample of the 1500 pictures we took on our adventure.
