Just after Gianna finished her last project in her 1st year at GCU, Susan and Jeff flew into Phoenix with all of their backpacking gear and they headed to Grand Canyon National Park to hike into the Canyon and spend 2 nights camping at the bottom.  It was an amazing experience and probably the hardest physical thing any of us had ever done before.  We learned a lot of lessons AND that the signs in the canyon were put up before anyone had hand held GPS. (hint: they are not accurate, when it says that the next bathroom is .5 miles it could be .6, .7 or even .9.  NOT COOL.  We all decided we might do the hike again but wouldn’t backpack again.
