Our move out into the country
We decided to sell our house in Thompson’s Station, downsize and move out into the country a little more. There were several contributing factors; the house on Loudenslager was too big for just the two of us, traffic getting to and from work for Jeff was getting really bad and there was a ton of building going on around us which was going to make things worse and we wanted a little more land.
We didn’t want to be homeless so we ended up buying the new house before we put our old home on the market. Once we had the Azalee home under contract we put Loudenslager on the market. It took longer than we thought it would to sell and then we ended up selling it contingent on the buyers selling their home, common in CA but not so much in TN. Owning two homes for the 3 months wasn’t fun. two yards to mow, two houses to cool in the dead of summer and a little more stress than we cared for. In the end, we sold and love our new country home. We have 1.5 acres and have a host of different critters that come and visit us. Deer, wild turkeys, cows form the 100 acre working farm behind us, armadillos, raccoons and even a ground hog that Susan has named Henry, he is soooo cute.
